Installing the New for Apple BirdFont 5.4.0: A Review and Expectations

The latest version of BirdFont, 5.4.0, has just been released, bringing with it a plethora of new features and improvements for Mac users. As someone who has been following the development of this freeware application, I was excited to dive in and see what's new.

Firstly, I want to commend the developer on their hard work in addressing bugs and other issues that have plagued previous versions. However, as a user, I do have some expectations for future updates. Specifically, I would like to see the following improvements implemented:

While BirdFont is undoubtedly a remarkable piece of software, especially considering its freeware status (or rather, donationware), it's not without its flaws. As someone who values transparency and honesty in their reviews, I must admit that I do have some qualms about this application.

Despite these reservations, the biggest plus for me is the ability to create new font characters within a package that's essentially free. This feature alone makes BirdFont a valuable tool for the Mac community. Furthermore, I still appreciate what the developer has achieved so far and see a lot of potential in this emerging technology.

As someone who wants to like BirdFont a lot, I'm rooting for its continued development and improvement. Here's hoping that future updates will address some of my concerns and take this application to the next level.
